- UPGRADE-M TO THE K3BC SSTV
-
- Be sure to write down the previouly determined values for LT3,
- BS, BL, and BP before uploading this and as a first step insert
- them in SYS CONFIG in the new programs. A new parameter, VP, was
- added with this revision, so rerun VESA to find out it's value is.
-
- The focus of these changes is to add an in-line graphics capa-
- bility to add fancy colored letters and/or phrases to your pixes
- just before you transmit them. Only Trucolor equipped machines can
- use this. It is available in TVT, TR, TT, TJ, TG, and QD. After a
- pix is selected, you just hit L(etters) to get a flashing cursor,
- move that cursor to position and type the letter or phrase(phrases
- are prestored in bitmapped 2-color PCX files which you make in any
- font and size desired using any Paint program). F1 thru F5 call up
- the phrases. You can keep a lot of phrases stored in the Font sub-
- directory (C:\TV\F1) but can only access 5 of them "on the fly"
- without retyping a new selection in SYS CONFIG. Background files
- can be used to fill the letters instead of varying color letters.
- To toggle back and forth you key B(ackground) just before the L.
- [see TVT in OPERATTV.TXT and PCXLABEL in TVINFO.TXT.]
-
- KC5O asked for a marker on the transmit pixes which would show
- how much had been transmitted at any time so this was added. I had
- avoided adding this as it could bump over the time line limit on
- very slow machines. My compromise was to only add it to the Truco-
- lor programs. So if you have a slow 286 but have added Trucolor and
- it causes trouble, we can provide the info to delete the function.
-
- One ham had trouble with the new RT since it requires slightly
- more serial port voltage than before. There may be more isolation
- resistance built into some ports, so you could lower the 500 ohm
- resistors in the interface to 100 ohms---or other IC's may work at
- lower voltages. In any case,I have added back the old RT (with the
- Scottie enhancements added) for those who don't want to change the
- interface. To change to the old just: C:\TV>REN RT.BAS RTNEW.BAS
- then C:\TV>REN RTOLD.BAS RT.BAS . I don't expect this to be a
- common problem except perhaps on laptops. Mode 99 (Wefax) has not
- been changed so if it works but the SSTV modes don't, you have the
- problem. Much info on other IC choices is available from the gang
- on 14230 khz.
-
- As usual, some miscellaneous bugs,or minor procedural changes
- have been made. Let me know about ones I may not yet know about.
-
- Have fun,
